[On screen is just the image of a lionfish placidly swimming in a tank, ignoring the histrionic ranting that's going on off screen. Narvin at least attempts to be fairly calm and professional in public and curb his rantiness before it gets out of hand, but in private, among people he's familiar with, all bets are off.]-thisth is happening. Gentlemen, perhaps you should consult… [Quick check.] Narvin's communicator. It appears to be active.

Dammit. [Said softly but viciously. In addition to the lisp, he's also come down with a blinding headache. He fumbles with the communicator and turns it off. He hates the universe right now.]

I have plenty of hypothesthesth. [Oh heavens, he's not saying that word again.] But none of them are particularly likely. [A whole phrase carefully constructed without a single sibilance.]

Y-- Correct. But that happened a long time ago. Why would I be death tolling now?

Narvin, can I do anything for you?

Thank you, I'm...fine. Merely a bit light-headed. [The lisp goes unmentioned. And he very carefully chooses words without Esses in them.]

I'm fine. [Not quite. But after a few minutes the lightheadedness has started to improve and the lisp fade. For a while Narvin thought he'd be out for the full death toll three days or more.]

I'm not ssure about using the lab while all thiss iss going on. Ssudden death toll in the middle of a senssitive experiment could be dissasterouss.

Your warden...what do you think of him? [Narvin loves fishing for information and he doesn't know much about Locke.]

Take a break, man. I don't have no death toll, I can look after the stuff.

[Private]

He's a nosy asshole. And I'm pretty sure he's nuts.

[Narvin hates not working, but...death toll.]

Agreed.

[Private]

So, fairly typical for the Barge, then.

Getting you as well?

[That's explanation enough. Now he knows where the gunshot aches are coming from.]

Asss well? [The lisp is starting to fade to a more subtle hiss.] You're experiencing death toll painss too?

I collapsed due to particular wounds earlier. [The ones he got from you. During a breach. Only not you.]

[Private]

I suppose I ought to prepare in case the death toll fails, oughtn't I? Grim a thought as it is.

[Good thing the Doctor didn't mention that detail or else Narvin would feel uncomfortably guilty.]

Cosmoss, I hope not. I'd rather not have to experience all my deathss here at once.
