.070 [Video] Injury Report--People die but bureaucracy continues

Jul 11, 2011 15:04

[In the wake of chaos, Narvin turns to bureaucracy to calm himself. It's also his way of appearing innocent. No one but us boring civil servants here; not anyone who would ever condone murder, yes?]I'd like a record of all injuries that occurred over these last few days as a result of this fracas. Every injury, from stubbed toes to ( Read more... )

sveta is a public health hazard, narvin is a bureaucrat, civil servants are scary

[Narvin was careful not to say anything in public ever, but it's perfectly reasonable and in-character for Howie to (correctly) think the worse of Narvin.]

What makes you think I endorsed anything? I certainly wouldn't approve of wanton violence. [While being bang on for focused and organized violence.]

I believe you were stabbed while protecting Doctor Nazarova, correct?

I'm just trying to get my facts straight, Sergeant.

I won't deny that I thought that Doctor Nazarova was a threat, but I didn't make any public appeals for violence and I certainly didn't want to add to the injuries or the chaos any more than was necessary.

It's better to get it done while the circumstances of injury are fresh in everyone's heads.

And I find it amazing how irresponsible you can be. So I suppose we're even.

Name: Wanda Maximoff

Nature of Injury: Bruises, scrapes, cuts, minor burns, etc.

Time of Injury: Throughout Saturday

Activity(ies) being performed when injury occurred:
Dealing with an exploding campfire
Extracting a very large bug from my hair
Attempting to avoid being eaten by a giant toad, from which I was fortunately rescued by Luke
Finding the exit of the CES in the dark, during a storm
Fingernail injuries to palms

Dear Narvin: I'm letting you and Kay know too, ok? If there is ever a next time when my powers run out of control, don't seclude me in the CES, just take me to Zero, full stop. Knock me out if you have to. I'll be OK with it once I come to my senses.

Understood. [And he remembers when he saw her in Zero, huddled and obviously in distress. And he's been in Zero himself, and knows that being alone in Zero can feel very alone indeed when frightened and unstable.]

If that ever becomes necessary, we'll make sure you won't be alone while you're there, if you like. [Because even though Narvin can sometimes be a bastard, if she's going to suffer to make sure other people are safe, the least he do is try to make sure her suffering is a bit lessened.]

I'd really prefer that, if you don't need every hand. Just someone to keep me talking.

I'll make a note of it.

Do you plan on doing anything with whatever anyone tells you?

The information might be useful. [He's not saying that he's planning anything, but he's not ruling it out, either.

He hesitates. This next conversation, he thinks, might be more difficult.]

Now that the emergency's over, I'll need those weapons back. If you kill anyone, they get could get traced back to me.

You don't seriously expect me to agree to that.

[Damn, he was afraid of this. She doesn't even have a warden to quietly have a word with, and he's sure that any attempt to take the weapons back by force would go very badly indeed.]

Just...keep them hidden. Use them responsibly. Try not to kill anybody. [That last phrase seems familiar. And then he recalls that that's what Andred used to tell his human huntress. It's a disturbing thought, so he continues on to bury it under more words.] If you do, the other wardens will certainly confiscate them.
