[At the moment he saw Kay notice the note, Narvin decided that he desperately needed to run away a cup of tea. So he hurried to the kitchen to get out a kettle and teapot and tried very hard not to think about the fact that Kay was probably picking up the note right now...possibly reading it.]

[Kay was coming through to find Narvin and point out that the sword was gone, because that was an exciting thing. He didn't necessarily want to involve himself in frequent cover-ups when they might interfere with proper protection rather than ensure it. He glances at the note and almost passes it by.

Almost. But there's a big K there that isn't a Gallifreyan letter at all, and that's enough to make him pick it up and read it. And the more he reads, the harder he grins.

You see, it's impossible for Narvin to be out of his mind on chemicals, because he wrote it, left it like some bomb he'd just set, and ran off and is now pretending like he has nothing to do with it. Plus, it reads like a formal declaration.

His cheeks are hurting he's grinning so hard.

He folds it up and puts it in his wallet, right behind the carte noire. He goes into the kitchen and wraps his arms loosely around his shoulders.]

The sword's gone. Don't have to worry about that anymore. [He rests his chin on top of his head.]

[When Kay enters he stares fixedly at the kettle as if willing it to boil faster so he could look busy. When Kay speaks, Narvin's almost grateful that the words have nothing whatsoever to do with the note.]

It's gone? [He processes that information. One less danger on board. One less mind compelling him to betray his ship allegiances.]

Good. It should have been destroyed or taken away as soon as the box was opened.

[Underneath the talk of Barge business, Narvin is starting to become concerned that Kay didn't see the note after all, or saw but didn't read. If that's the case, the agony would be prolonged even further since Narvin would continue to feel slightly sick with nerves until Kay *does* read it. And if it waits too long, he's afraid he'll be tempted to snatch it up and rip it apart.]

Completely gone. Off to be destroyed in some other universe. [He gives Narvin a kiss on top of his head. Loosely holds to one wrist with the other hand in an easy hug.]

By the way. Ditto.
