I think he feels sorry for Rhys. Gwen does not deserve someone as loyal as him.

Jack should know you can't solve other people's problems for them. Gwen is going to have to figure this out for herself (and in canon, it appears that she does).

I really hope Gwen gets the message. Jack spent a lot of time in season 1 trying to push Gwen back in Rhys' direction. Maybe she'll finally take the hint. Rhys deserves better, he's stood by Gwen through everything and still loves her despite how badly she treats him.

Rhys is too good for her. Jack keeps trying to remind her not to let it drift, but she is so wrapped up in her own world that she doesn't always see Rhys.
