Being a natural early riser had proven to be the only problem with a new roommate. Yuna was still asleep by the time Aerith was up and about; moving through the room to change and freshen up was like being in a spy movie ( ... )

He didn't have to wait long before the door opened and Aerith's smiling face appeared. He stepped away from the door to give her room to slip out, noting that she still carried around the bucket with her. Well, they were collecting shells, so he supposed that it would come in handy today at least.

Following after her without question, he pulled his sunglasses from the top of his head to settle over his eyes again before they emerged from the inn. The streets weren't that busy, but already early-morning joggers and children were out enjoying the early hours. It was going to be a nice hot day, so everyone should be getting their hard activities out of the way now.

"What kind of shells are we looking for anyway?" He had mostly seen broken shells, but maybe she was looking for chips of them. He even took the lead to draw them down to the beach area, though he turned to face her when his bare feet settled on the sand. "You didn't blush immediately in seeing me."

As they approached the beach, Aerith kept cheerfully quiet. She didn't really feel the need to talk, her mind was elsewhere with collecting shells and potential trouble she could coerce Cloud into. Time with him was precious, and she intended on spending it well.

She was snapped from her thoughts once he took the lead, and bright green eyes blinked a couple times before she responded. "I told you already, pretty ones!" That wasn't exactly a scientific term, but Aerith thought it was good enough of a description.

Her brow furrowed once he looked at her, and her hands dropped down to her hips. "I'm sorry if you're disappointed, but I will not be blushing today." She thrust the bucket at him, her annoyance suddenly phasing back into a smile. "C'mon, let's start searching!"

Pretty ones? That didn't help with what they were looking for. He figured that if she kept up like this, he would just get all the shells that he found approved by her. He wasn't about to be source of her disappointment by getting shells that would be classified as 'ugly'. Maybe the more colourful, the better... or he'd just look for the pink ones.

The beginnings of a smirk took root at the edge of his lips, but he held it from fully blossoming. "Oh, is that a fact, Miss Gainsborough? I guess I just need to try harder today, if you're going to refuse." Making her blush meant that he was free to tease her and keep the heat off of him.

Taking the bucket, he turned and started to walk further down the beach. "You should show me what kind of shells you consider 'pretty'." He hadn't made mention of the gift he had brought her, not yet at least.
