So there'd been a flash of pink light, she'd found herself in some ugly ruined tower place, and now some guy was calling her rude? Rinoa was not a happy bunny. She had an inkling of what was going on, but that didn't make it any less creepy.

Rinoa picked her way through the debris towards him, recognising that shock of red hair as she did so. "Hey! Who are you calling rude?"

The moment Shelke had realized the flash of light had not left her where she had been a moment before, she had vanished. Better safe than sorry, as it were. She'd heard Reno calling, and started towards him, though she remained invisible until she heard Rinoa as well. Hmm...

"Rude is his partner." Shelke explained as she faded into view near the two of them, her eyes focused on their surroundings. "I do not think he is here, though."

There he was! Following him through the door into the next room. He continued to search with his partner, then...

"There's nothing here." A heaviness settled in his heart, frowning at the lack of a sign of Rufus. "Let's go, Rude." He headed back for the door, but paused as Rude called out to him.

"Wait." So he waited, turning back to look at his partner, who was pointing to a part of the wall across the way from them. "The color's different."

Hope bloomed and he hurried over to the discolored wall, fingers searching over its surface desperately. Rufus had to be back there! He had to be alive! Fingernails scratched at it, hoping to catch onto something. A latch, a space... anything at all. But after a few minutes, he stepped back, shaking his head. "It's just a wall, Rude."

Rinoa jumped as Shelke appeared next to them. She was already feeling shaky, and Reno's strange, desperate behaviour did nothing to alleviate that. She stepped back, crossing her arms and watching him with wide eyes.

"He doesn't think that."
