Vincent's knowledge of Midgar was likely not as accurate as Shelke's, even without her losing her knowledge from Shinra. He had only entered it with Cloud and the others, and then later, when it was needed in order to take down Deepground and Omega. He certainly hadn't made any effort to come to Midgar as it was in this world.

He met Shelke's gaze silently when she looked back toward him, and followed without speaking as she moved further into the ruins. He essentially ignored Eiko, though he did listen for whatever answer she might give to Shelke's question. This was the second time recently that he had traveled with her on some task or another, but it hardly seemed more than coincidence to him.

Eiko had only been to this place once and she still thought it was creepy, no matter how many moogles lived here. Treno was just weird, this place gave her the shivers.

Shelke's question took her by surprise. Not that Eiko really gave it much thought. It was just how the world was, like it always rained in Burmecia. She gave a small shrug and twirled her flute around her fingers. "No idea. Probably because it's by Treno. It's always like this around here." Vivi might know better since he'd lived nearby, but he was gone again.

Shelke almost followed up Eiko's answer with 'that doesn't actually answer the question' but she let it drop instead. She'd ask some of the scientists in Lindblum when they were finished, if she remembered. Instead she turned and focused on moving ahead, though after a few more steps she turned and offered the Lantern to Vincent. She really was wasting her time trying to hold it up. "Is it ever not dark here?" She finally asked, her curiousity getting the better of her.

With a snap-hiss she turned on one of her laser swords instead, letting that light bathe the path ahead of her as she walked. Eventually they hit an intersection that she recognized. "We're in Sector Five." She finally said, now that she was sure of her bearings. "So we need to go...this way."

And off she went.

Vincent took the lantern when it was offered. Held from his greater height, it did much more for illuminating the area than it had when Shelke had been holding it, even with the shadows that his cloak caused. With the addition of Shelke's blades, it was all the light they needed in order to navigate the place properly.

They had found their way, it seemed, as Shelke started off. He followed her lead, keeping an eye out for anything that might attempt to surprise them. He didn't bother to participate in the conversation yet.
