Having stationed capable fighters at every entrance to the town and at every weak point she knew of, Celes fell back to get a better idea of the situation. Whatever anyone said about what was going on, she knew it wasn't good. There was only so much they could do to protect the town. Everyone who couldn't fight was in the center of town, guarded as best they could be by other capable fighters. Celes noticed many people she wasn't familiar with fighting the undead army Lufene had brought with her, and she made a mental note to thank them later ( ... )

As soon as she cleared the way, Terra indeed followed. She hoped, prayed, that their friends were faring well, but the chaos of battle was making that impossible to see for herself right now. Therefore, she would guard the one in her line of sight.

The green-haired woman darted forward sending a blast of flame at the nearest foes. Glancing around, she swiftly leaped upward again, managing to avoid what could have been a terrible blow. While Celes shouted her orders, Terra turned her attention to watching her friend's back. If anything attempted to reach her through her blind side, Terra was ready to strike.
