The only reason Zidane figured out that something was wrong was that he happened to be heading past the bedroom and noticed a guard just...standing in there. Perfectly still. It wasn't odd to see guards, well...everywhere in the palace, but just standing perfectly still and...was that her sword out? That was a bit odd.

He approached her quietly, reaching out to tap her lightly on the shoulder...and then noticed her eyes were moving. She was frozen but her eyes were staring at him in panic. "Stop." He said to himself, frowning and patting her lightly on the shoulder.

A minute of pocket searching came up with a remedy and he poured it over her head then caught her before she could fall. "What happened?"

"It's your...it's Lufene, she's here! Out there!" The guard waved her hand towards the balcony and Zidane turned to see a number of other frozen guards. Perfect.

"Go find Rusty. And Bea. But don't come charging back in here, alright? I'll...see if I can get rid of her." Zidane sent the guard hurrying away and then moved across the ( ... )

A burst of melodious giggling came forth in response to the suggestion that she was on the run. How completely preposterous! "Don't be silly, Zidane. I thought I'd be a welcomed guest."

From her perch, she studied Zidane. The first of Kuja's replacements. She knew as much about him as Garland did and yet he remained an enigma to her. Why in the world would Garland choose someone like him? For that matter, why wouldn't he live up to the task he was created for? She understood all too well the seed of rebellion that came with possessing a soul, but how could he not enjoy basking in destruction?

Lufene slid off the balcony, graceful in the movement, and closed the distance between them with her tail doing a lazy sway behind her. "You should do something about your staff. No manners at all." Her high heels produced soft thunks on meeting the plush carpeting. Her arms folded under her bust and she huffed with a childish pout, a total contrast to her vixen appearance.

"It's like I'm not wanted here."

"Welcomed Guests call first," Zidane crossed his arms as Lufene sauntered towards him, considering her carefully. He'd not gotten a good look at her before...but he could see the family resemblence, really. Genome's had always been pretty, as much as Zidane would rather be rugged he knew he wasn't, and it was obvious Lufene was the perfect female version of 'that.' Like Kuja had dressed to be, creepily enough.

"And they aren't staff, they're soldiers. You attacked three cities, what were you expecting, a parade?" Zidane did not look on the defensive, he looked rather relaxed, probably. That didn't mean he wasn't, of course, but there was no sense looking for a confrontation when there might not need to be one. "They were just doing their duty. You might as well unstop them."

"It would be kinder to leave them as they are until something can be done about their atrocious wardrobe. Really, who selected those uniforms?" Narcissistic and vain as she was, Lufene truly found unattractive things offensive. She wanted to be the most beautiful of anything that surrounded her, but still she wanted her own aesthetically pleasing things and people to look at.

Lufene affected a pretty little pout, with big scared eyes to go with. "You're not angry about that are you, Brother?" Not that she cared much for that notion, and her inflection of the word hinted at how much she liked it. Now that she was close enough, she snaked her arm up one of Zidane's. "We were made to destroy and kill." Implying that she too was only doing as she was supposed to, no less so than the soldiers he referenced.

Which was utter rubbish. She enjoyed every moment of that rampage across the world. There was the minor nuisance that it was precisely what Garland wanted from her, but that matter she planned to settle for herself.
