Preparation for the fight. praygenius November 23 2010, 04:07:05 UTC
"Anyone likely to see the front lines, gather here!" Porom ordered. The fact that she had no authority to be barking orders hadn't seemed to occur to her. Taking charge was what she did. "Any civillians, seek shelter!"

She breathed another protect spell over her clasped hands, placing them against the warrior in front of her. Touch was normally something she avoided but the contact made the magic travel more easily and with a long battle ahead of her and no ether she wanted to save all the energy she could. She watched as the soldier left, turning to the next one and trying to shake away the terrible thought that these men might be marching to their deaths. Hopefully proper preparation would minimize casualties.

"Does anyone know where his highness is? Do we have a battle plan? Information? Anything?"

Terra, having arrived with Porom, shook her head when Porom approached. "I can use Protect on myself. Shield those who don't have any magic." She lifted a travel bag, bulky with potions and other restoratives. "Where do you want these?"

Whether or not Porom had any real authority, at least she seemed to know what she was doing, and she could heal. Those might count for a lot, at this time.

"Right, thank you." Porom said, nodding, relived to have at least saved a little energy. "Chemists should be able to make the best use of medicines. If there are any here then they should carry the bulk of them."

She paused, thinking. "But we're short on healers. It may be best for those incapable of healing themselves to carry at least a few potions."

Terra nodded, coming to the same conclusion. "I'll pass them around to those, then. I don't need them as much, since I can heal myself, too." She paused, trying to think of what else could be done. "I can't stay back, I'll have to fight...but whenever it's possible, I'll try to fall back and help here, too."

She couldn't promise anything, though, and her eyes said as much. Glancing around, she chewed her lip. "If you see a woman with long blond hair, called Celes...ask her to find me? I think she's here, but...she shouldn't fight alone. She'll need me."

ZOMBIES! (For non-boss fighting!) praygenius November 23 2010, 04:26:51 UTC
Porom moved a hand through the air, catching the fading afternoon sunlight like shining threads between her pale fingers. The light moved within her hands as she cupped them around it, alive and shifting and growing, the threads of it moving around each other like snakes and knotting together into something almost tangible, almost solid and realAnd for a few seconds of absolute tranquillity, the feeling of weaving together pure light into a spell was all that she focussed on. The sounds of battle brought her back quickly enough, back into a world where screams and shouts and the dull thud of steel against bone rang through the air and where her hair was matter to her face with sweat and blood that was only mostly not her own. Back into a world where a large, undead dragon had managed to get between her and the fighters she was supporting and was now staring her down with dead, empty eyes ( ... )

TEAM DERPSIDIA, OVER HERE? heavenslament November 23 2010, 05:17:07 UTC
Meanwhile, the Queen's Garden was quickly being overrun by the undead horde and Terra was mid-air almost constantly. She launched bright missile after missile at the swarm, trying to give those injured and retreating soldiers some time to fall back to the city proper. If she felt any fatigue at all, it didn't register. The adrenaline rush gained from the battle was enough to keep her going for now, and the moment alone was all that mattered. There was no time for anything else.

That became more apparent as a large shadow moving across the ground caused her to peer upward. Her eyes widened, as she took in the large, undead whale just above. It had noticed those soldiers and was closing in; if she didn't stop it, Alfitaria would lose more people. Thinking quickly, she fired off another round of Holy.

The large whale shuddered as the blasts of light struck it, but did not fall from the sky just yet. Instead, it headed for the green-haired woman who sent them. Terra had wanted to get its attention and she certainly succeeded.....

Still incapable of mimicking, Bartz decided to give up on trying to use the skills he used to have for this battle and instead concentrate on using the skills he did have.

Like Blue Magic.

"Terra, look out!" He shouted, unfamiliar magic travelling clumsily through the air toward her. The Vanish spell rendered her invisible, hiding her from the view of the whale.

Upon feeling the magic envelop and protect her, Terra turned toward that familiar face. "Bartz!" She smiled, though there was little time to otherwise thank him.

Instead, she focused on the large undead whale. Not able to find her, it nonetheless targeted the nearest opponent and used Venom Breath. Horrified, and worried that it would try that again, Terra sent a fireball in its direction.

Fighting Lufene ultimategenome November 23 2010, 13:56:53 UTC
Hovering over Alfitaria was a single silver dragon bearing a rider, Lufene. She giggled and simpered to herself over the grand time she was having, stretching her wings without Garland or Kuja to check her. There was the disturbing matter that Garland had up and left Terra without so much as a word to her, and while she knew his ultimate plans with regards to both worlds, she had not a clue what he was about or why the prolonged silence. Openly she gloated that she had been given free reign to do as she wished, but underneath her open rebellion, she pouted and sulked that he was leaving her out of the loop ( ... )

Fighting Lufene was easier when she couldn't speak to him, couldn't get inside his head, couldn't take every opportunity to remind him of what he was. Vivi was more than happy to fight from the ground, aiming a flare spell upward at the silver dragon.

Joining him on the ground was Rinoa. She ran up, having finally spotted Lufene amongst the dragons in the air, and sent a Flare spell of her own straight after Vivi's.

Terra, on the other hand, took to the air. She knew it made her a target, but at the same time, she was more powerful in her Esper form. And, martyr that she was, the young woman would rather be a target than allow Lufene to focus her energy on Vivi or other friends on the ground. If she could buy them some time, any injury was worth it in her mind.

After those Flares were cast, Terra tried her own magic on the Angel of Death. Focusing, she then sent a barrage of Holy missiles at the woman and her mount. It was time to get their attention, and she hoped for the sake of those below that it would work.

ULTROS hi_no_dansu November 24 2010, 00:27:03 UTC
Sabin was methodically downing zombie after zombie when he felt something curl around his left leg. Shooting a quick glance at the offending object, the Prince discovered a most unwelcome sight before him. It was a sight he had never hoped to see again but regardless, a smirk crossed the Bear's face. He'd been spoiling for an excuse to put his training to use and finally, he'd found the perfect excuse.

"Ultros," the Prince growled. "It's been too long, my friend."

The Octopus laughed mirthlessly at the joke before his tentacles were aimed at the Prince as fire began dancing along the ground. Sabin knew the villain's weakness and intended to full exploit it to his heart's content. Despite the fire whipping the ground and the Octopus, Ultros attacked with a fevered frenzy, lashing out at the Prince.

Locke was fighting alongside when Sabin's leg was unceremoniously grabbed. He smirked at the monk, "Getting into trouble as usual, I see." He flung his boomerang at a zombie behind Sabin so the prince could keep his attention firmly on the octopus.

Still he was a little shocked when he had to hop out of the way for fear of his feet getting burned. "Easy, easy. Just tell me to move first."

Terra was peering around, trying to find Celes amidst all the chaos, when she spotted Sabin and Locke faced with a familiar foe. The young woman froze for a moment, not trusting her eyes...and yet, it wasn't a trick of the light or anything else such. Ultros had truly joined them, somehow.

Blasting the nearest undead between them, Terra charged forward. Once within range -and once Sabin's blitz had finished, she sent a burst of flame along the ground. She remembered Ultros' weakness as well, so...nothing wrong with a little help, right?

Celes wasn't too far behind. When the others spotted Ultros, she saw him, too. Anger rose inside her and she finished off what she was working on before she turned her blade towards Sabin's target, too.

She forewent talking, leaping in to swipe her blade at the octopus. This was the last time he would be seen on Gaian soil.
