While Halim wasn’t new to such weather here in the Skysea, he certainly had to admit that living within the tropics is quite a challenge. If the humidity wasn’t enough to chase the residents towards the nearest waters, then perhaps the endless sunlight would. Here within this floating oasis, the cool breeze brimming off the sea would be the only cure for ailing residents and visitors alike. Luckily, for the Marquis he managed to secure a summer villa right near the beautiful blue sea ( ... )

The sand's heat radiated through the blanket where they sat as Ashe shifted, looking upward. Thankfully, the tall, Bhujerban figure stood against the sun, meaning the princess had no need to squint or shade her eyes in order to address him. That said, the sky aloft formed a remarkably pure shade of blue around his visage, cloudless.

"So much so, that he persists in removing and attempting to eat it," she replied in mock disapproval, fixing the bonnet back in place as the boy's eyes followed it all the while. "Good day, uncle," she began, feeling rather glad of the slight ocean breeze while gracing the Marquis with a welcoming nod. However, the baby was back to reaching upward within seconds, little hands grasping where the frill was visible over his brow.

"Shain..." Ashe spoke softly but clearly, at which her son immediately looked back to his mother. It seemed the royal infant was beginning to make the link between himself and the name, a pleasing and significant step.

"Leave your hat, and greet your great-uncle."

Sure enough at Ashe’s words, the little boy began to tug at his bonnet again. Halim found the entire act to be honestly endearing, something he shall carve into memory. Shain is an adorable mix of his niece’s beauty and Rasler’s handsome façade, the perfect combination of Dalmasca’s undying loyalty to Nabradia. He watched the youngster play, not at all frowning at Shain’s amusing display.

“Good day, Ashelia.” He greeted Ashe with a warm smile. “Worry not about Shain, I am certain he shall win this duel between him and his hat soon enough.” Taking a quick glance towards his grand nephew again, Halim’s gaze shifted away from the feisty tot and over towards sea nearby.

“I do hope that Rasler and you both are enjoying your time here at the Skysea. The land here is truly a sight to behold, so pure and so serene.”

Ashe lifted her son, sitting him upon her lap, against her. If Shain pulled off the bonnet again, at least his head would be protected by her shadow in addition to his platinum hair.

Close as the sea was, Ashe found herself drawn to watching it even without following Halim's gaze. The sunlight danced upon placid water, gentle waves lazily lapping the shoreline. Never would she question Dalmasca's magnificence, though having grown up in the arid deserts of her forefathers meant that such a vision as this, the open water, had been beyond the princess' grasp. Now, her eyes drank it all in.

"We owe you our gratitude for the invitation," offered Ashe with a nod. Her gaze returned upward to her uncle, a stray hand absently stroking Shain's exposed, downy hair. "Since the dragons were unleashed upon Figaro... we had both needed this." A glance downward, the moonsilver wedding band glittering in the sun.

"You were fortunate to acquire such a residence - It is your intention to remain?"
