Getting married was a life-changing occasion. Cid knew well how Garnet's heart must be fluttering in her chest. Taking her hand, he gave her a reassuring wink.

"You look wonderful," he murmured. To see Garnet bloom into such a beautiful young woman gave him a strong feeling of fatherly pride. She would remember this day all of her life, and Cid wouldn't let her down. He nodded to her, then led her slowly down the aisle, towards her waiting groom.

Zidane stood at the front of the church, just a bit off to the side where he was pretty sure he was supposed to be standing. He was standing 'still', except that the people who knew him would know how nervous he was as his tail was swinging back and forth, a slow, steady, nervous sort of motion. But hey, he hadn't run off!

That was something, right?

Beside the true officiant for the wedding stood Eiko, surprisingly clad in the traditional green and gold robes of the summoner's tribe. The child summoner gave her sleeve a pat to make sure her scroll still waited in place and then smiled. This was a huge day, for her friends and for her. As the only other summoner left to the tribe, it fell to her to pronounce the tribe's blessing on this marriage and perform the sacred rites ( ... )

With her hand on Cid's arm, Garnet smiled at him as they began the walk down the petal-covered aisle. It was a short walk, but it seemed like forever as she passed row after row of friends and allies, all eyes on her. Still, her eyes were focused ahead, on the steps and the candles, the cleric with the large book in hand, Eiko to the side in her green and gold robes, and Zidane -- as clean and well-dressed as she thought she had ever seen him in her entire life. She couldn't miss the grin on his face, and it strangely set her at ease. Beneath the grooming and the polishing, he was still Zidane.

As she took those final steps toward the front stairs, she glanced at her 'uncle', her hand slipping from it's place on his arm. The music quieted, and the queen turned to hand her bouquet to the nearest attendant. From that moment forward, her attention was completely on Zidane; the rest of the room melted into a murmur of sound and color.
