Blank had been hesitant to enter the Wood, after all, it sat where the Evil Forest once had, a place that brought terrible memories back, painful memories. A shiver ran down his back as he remembered all too well how it felt to turn to stone, being alive yet not, the pain as internal organs hardened. It was something he would never forget.

He knew Eiko was capable of looking after herself, and he knew she would hate him for interfering, but he couldn't sit back and do nothing while those Plant Spiders still existed.

He entered the Wood, and looked around in amazement. It was ...beautiful. He let out a low whistle at the sight as he walked deeper inside, keeping an eye out for his young, horned friend.

Zidane had actually been in the woods about twenty minutes now, since the Regent had requested he track their wayward princess down. He wasn't actually all that worried about Eiko...he'd seen what the kid could Summon, and there wasn't much that could stand up to that in a fair fight.

But she was still only ten. She shouldn't have to be here by herself.

He was coming around a bend when he spotted a familiar flash of red hair nearby, and hauled himself up on a branch to wave at Blank.

"Yo! You looking for Eiko too?"

Off in the distance, Eiko could hear voices, although she wasn't quite sure who they belonged. Immediately, her mind jumped to her new Eidolon and concern welled up that it might be someone come to harm her. That concern stood unwarranted, as a few seconds later, Shiva materialized right behind Eiko inside her hiding spot with a giggle. She poked the summoner with a finger, then tittered some more.

"No fair! You cheated!" Eiko protested with a childish pout. She was going to sulk some more but the voices growing closer hushed her.

"They're looking for us," Shiva whispered. "We should hide."

Eiko looked at the Eidolon and shook her head, before she started snickering. "We are hiding!" After a moment of whispered deliberation, the summoner and the summon decided to stay hidden and see if the others could find them. It was a good spot, if only the muffled sound of girlish giggles wouldn't give them away.

Blank caught sigh of the familiar tailed blonde and returned the wave. Hiding in the trees? How vert monkey-like. "Yeah, I thought I'd come and keep my eye on her. I don't think the Regent would be too happy if his daughter was turned into a statue - even if he would get some peace and quiet." In other words, that was Blank talk for 'I don't want her to get mauled by Plant Spiders'.

"Any sign of her yet?" He glanced around, hearing the faint sound of giggling. Well, at least she wasn't monster food... yet.
