Squall's arrival with his injury had taken a toll on the medical supply on board Garden-- without a white mage in the residency, their entire stock of potions were nearly depleted in an attempt to heal the Commander's wounds. Now that things had relatively settled down on Garden with the arrival of Squall and Zell, Quistis took advantage of the pleasant weather outside and volunteered to venture into the city to stock up on necessary supplies

Hearing his name was actually a surprise. He hadn't expected to be called out to when he was out of armour as many people only ever got to see the mask if they knew his name. It was never his place or point to let others know his expressions and at least behind the helm he could have whatever expression he chose. He recalled vividly his first few years as an Imperial swordsman when he'd often pull faces at his commanding officer, but such was the behaviour of a teenage boy. Things had changed and when he'd achieved Magister ranking he'd long since forgotten the boyish games of childhood and his adolescence

She watched as Noah made his way over to her direction, easily navigating through the crowd of shorter civilians-- it was almost comical, the way he obviously towered over the all the inhabitants of the city. Quistis wore a hesitant smile when he finally reached her and she inclined her head into a small nod to greet him.
"I am, thank you. And yourself? I'm a bit surprised to see you in the city-- I didn't think you'd be leaving Narshe for a while."
For some reason, being in his presence made her a bit more nervous than usual, an obvious consequence from the events which had taken place since the night of the ball. She tried not to let her slight uneasiness show, though, her fingers idly playing with the strap of the bag now slung over one of her shoulders as she shifted the weight in her legs, looking up at him with a curious expression.
"Aye, I am well. 'Twould be that I am here on business. I was looking into the prices of chocobos, several chocobos." And damn it all it'd be difficult to get the birds back to Narshe. He'd cross that bridge once he came to it however as it'd be too much to overload himself with right now.
Then again, all he had was time to think now he wasn't fronting a war and hunting down his fugitive twin.
"And yourself?" He was still very accustomed to the way of speaking that Ivalice had but Quistis did often bring out a less uptight manner about him and he occasionally found himself speaking less formally and more in a modern vernacular, though it was rare. It was usually while he was around her anyway so it didn't matter so much. He just tended to keep a rein on his speech when speaking with Ivalicians. Particularly Larsa, Marquis Ondore and Basch.
