Every year, there are certain recipes that I usually make at least once. Come fall, it used to be my friend's (RIP) stew. Years ago, I stopped making it, but I miss it.
The first "cold" snap is here, and I really crave her stew. Why can't I make it with white beans, and why didn't I think of this before?? Her stew

That said, it seems like an awful lot of liquid. I might try it again. I'll probably eat it, then use the extra liquid to cook my next batch of beans in.
