Hi! I don't think it's entirely clear what the exact date is Rose became trapped in Pete's World, but since it was mentioned they're a few years ahead, I've seen people usually put it two or three years after the air dates (for example Doomsday was in 2008 in Pete's World, not 2006, Journey's End was 2010, not 2008).
I don't think a Royal Family is ever mentioned, so I couldn't say for sure whether Pete's World has one or not. I could be wrong though.
And Britain celebrates Bonfire Night (sometimes known as Guy Fawkes Night) on the 5th or November, and that almost always involves Fireworks. (There's more about it here if you're not familar.)
I know when they first went through, Mickey found a newspaper and he said it was February first of "this year." So not too far off at that point. But when they came back in Army of Ghosts/Doomsday I believe it was mentioned that three years had passed for Mickey. Least if I'm remembering right. It's been a while since I watched it, but for some reason three years sticks in my mind.
No, you're right, except it was Pete who said it instead of Mickey:
PETE When you left this world, you warned us there'd be more Cybermen. So we sealed them inside the factories.
(The Doctor steps away from the wall.)
JAKE Except people argued. Said they were living. We should HELP them.
PETE And the debate went on. But all that time, the Cybermen made plans. Infiltrated this version of Torchwood, mapped themselves onto your world, and then vanished.
Queen Victoria was bitten by the werewolf and it became a republic. So they wouldn't have a royal family after that.
And yes, fireworks are November 5th (Guy Fawkes/Bonfire Night) and recently, 1st January (ie as the clocks strike midnight on 31st December to celebrate New Year). (If you use New Year celebrations, btw, please call it New Year and not New Year's as we NEVER say that!)
However, if it's now a republic, then maybe they celebrate its becoming a republic - which means any day could be Fireworks Day - it is AU after all!
Wow, thank you! That definitely makes sense about the Queen - was that mentioned in an episode? It's certainly nice to have a definite answer for that question.^^
And thank you for all those possible Fireworks Days! One of my characters loves fireworks, so it's nice to know what her stories about them might involve. :D
