That was a really nicely written moment, and I can really see it as having maybe been a deleted scene or something they could have used, you write really well!

Does she really want to know, after all, what some woman saw in the Doctor that she, evidentially, can not?

He turns to her, swallows hard and says, softly; “Me.”

Oh, this is good.

I don't like GitF (or, as I've seen even some of its fans refer to it as, GitFace) - not because the Doctor abandoned Rose, or kissed another woman, but, among other reasons, because it just doesn't make logical sense in so many ways. I would, though, have loved to see the Doctor explain this to Rose. Of course, he wouldn't - the master of keeping secrets, him - but I do like this moment, and it softens the episode a little while not retconning it.

Lovely fic by the way, and I do understand that as a stand-alone episode it is great. But my shippy heart breaks everytime I see it. To me that episode is the one that makes Rose trully realize that she is not the only one he cares about. While the Doctor, this version falls in love. To me the tenth Doctor loved Rose as a friend, and in this episode it proves it. Yes, I do believe that eventually he does fall in love with her again, and by Doomsday he is already in love with her, hence series three and his broody demeanour. But I think that the falling in love again happened during Satan Pit or Fear Her. And he does take her for granted, especially in this episode. Sorry about the rambling on, and on, and on, in a incoherent explanation of what to me is their relationship in the show. Well, back on topic, and I do love your fic.

Oh...oh, ouch. This is one of those sucker-punch-to-the-gut fics that sneaks up on you when you least expect it. Gorgeous prose and the reason behind it all, the reason he loved her, oh so true and so incredibly painful. Thank you so much for sharing.

I like the darkness here and the way the Doctor still holds himself back from sharing with her, just that little bit.

And I saw that you mentioned you had another part that tags along with this, I would love to read that as well!

Thanks.
