I'm just glad they ARE continuing the show for season 5. So many people online were saying that RTD and mass amounts of the production team were tired of the show and wanted to jump ship, it made me a little sad. But this is great news! And we can always hope for a Rose reunion.
Your first reason is the only valid reason I could come up with. There is absolutely no point in postponing series 5 unless it's so DT can do both his play and Doctor Who. I'm guessing they're just not going to confirm him for series 5 until we get closer to it. They have to keep speculation going for a little while.
Saying all that, I am so pulling for that last reason too. More David Tennant = higher chance of a reunion. =D
I am all for #3. :) I mean can you think of anything else that could make it extra special that can quench a whole year of Dr. Who with only 3 episodes? Rose. Rose. Rose. HEHEHE. :)
I think everyone wants David Tennant as the doctor as long as possible and they are doing everything to make it happen. IMO this schedule permits that. DT is allowed to pursue other things especially the theatre. We know he loves being the Doctor and as an actor he still wants to grow and don't want to feel "trapped".
RTD and the rest of the crew can breathe for a bit and refresh themselves. LMAO!
I think this is the best solution to make everyone happy across the board. IMO it speaks volume that everyone is so willing to "bend" and accomodate DT and everyone else from the network to the crew.
I hope that made sense. I am just so excited that we have DT for a bit longer and the possibility of Rose coming back makes me all giddy. :)
:D A reunion does seem increasingly likely, doesn't it? :D And you're right, with the unique ability DW has to replace it's main actor, it's brilliant that they are so flexible with DT when in theory it would be easy for the Doctor to simply regenerate. It's nice that the production team don't seem to see the need for constant change and are using David's popularity to they're (and our) advantage. :)
