He rolled his Rs.
Honestly, after "lots of planets have a North" and being with the Doctor in general she'd thought she could put up with about anything. She didn't mind his clothes, for example, since he did seem to suit a jumper. That weird umbrella he carried around was actually sort of endearing. Even the fact she was just about the same height as him had the advantage that she no longer had to do any running in heels.
But he rolled his Rs, and especially, he rolled the R in her name while they were having sex.
"Oh, R-r-r-r-r-rose!" he'd cried out, the first time, propped up somewhat awkwardly against the console. "I'm so glad I found you in that alternate univer-r-r-r-rse."
"Yes, Doctor," she'd said, breathless from the encounter, and not at all inclined to argue even if it had killed the edge of her high a bit.
However, he seemed to take that as encouragement.
"Oh, R-r-r-r-r-rose!" he'd shouted in the back of a gin joint in the 1920s, in the prison cells of Pharos Three, back on New New Earth in the apple grass. Each time he even seemed to drag it out just a little bit further.
"Seriously, Doctor," she finally said, while readjusting her jeans and trying to get the blades of grass out of her bra. "That time I'd swear you made that one measly little R into seventeen of them."
The Doctor just grinned. "Is it bothering you, R-r-r-r-r-ose? Are you, perhaps, angr-r-r-r-r-y with me?"
"Oh, shut it," Rose grumbled. "I've met Ace - lovely girl, very clever fingers - and that apprentice bullshit's not going to work on me."
The Doctor pouted.
"Come on," she said, not willing to have another emo Time Lord on her hands. "There's a kilt in the wardrobe room I can try on. Promise to keep the rolling to a minimum, though."
He kept his promise. He did, however, start calling her Jamie.
Torchwood was looking better and better by the day.
