Name: Donna Noble
Canon: Doctor Who
OU/AU: Alternate
History: Donna Noble was one of the Tenth Doctor's companions, having met him during a disastrous almost-marriage to Lance in which she had been whisked into the TARDIS by the huon particles Lance had been dosing her with since he first met her. The Doctor, after a chase through London by killer Santa Claus robots who were after Donna, manages to get her back to her wedding. The ceremony owund up cancelled, but they enjoyed the reception anyway.... until a robotic Christmas Tree (I kid you not!) started firing on the guests. The Doctor and Donna then begin to investigate HC Clements, Donna's current place of work, and found a trail to the Thames.
Where Lance and the Racnoss Empress were waiting to use Donna to revive the Racnoss larvae sleeping in the core of the Earth.
Needless to say, this was not on and the Racnoss were defeated with Donna saving the Doctor's life in the process. The Doctor offered Donna a place as one of his companions, but Donna, afraid of what sort of man the Doctor was, turned him down.
She later regretted this decision. Since her eyes were now opened to the universe being much bigger and varied than she ever thought possible she could never settle for her normal life of bouncing from job to job while butting heads with her mother. A trip to Egypt to alleviate her restlessness proved fruitless and when she returned she decided not to wait around for him and went looking instead. Knowing the Doctor would get involved with strange happenings she started investigating them in hopes he would show up.
He did. In a case involving illegal Adipose breeding. And went with him.
Many adventures, character development, and fun times later, they wound up on Shan Shen where Donna went to speak with a fortuneteller and a Time Beetle latched onto Donna, creating a parallel world around her in which she'd chosen another job and had never met the Doctor. As a result, the Doctor had died and things were slowing going to hell, culminating with the stars going out. Donna ran into a dimension-hopping Rose Tyler, who helped her travel to the past and ensure the correct timeline would play out. She met up with the Doctor, told him what happened, and then the cloister bell went off, the words "Bad Wolf" suddenly plastered over everything.
They returned to Earth, only to find it stolen.... somehow. A quick trip to the Shadow Proclamation and some meddling by quite a number of the Doctor's previous companions led the two to find where the Earth and 26 other planets had been taken--the Medusa Cascade--where the Daleks were intent on creating a reality bomb which would destroy the multiverse altogether.
This was not on. After a brief meetup with past companions and a drop into the reactor core of the Dalek flagship consisting of Donna trapped in the TARDIS, Donna grabbed for a hand-in-a-jar the (dreamy!) Captain Harkness had left behind. This caused a second half-human Doctor to be generated who created a weapon to fight off Davros and save the day!
....This didn't go as planned. Donna got shocked, the "Handy" Doctor captured, and the weapon destroyed. The reality bomb was set to go off when--
--Donna, the shock having been a catalyst for her end of the metacrisis that created Handy, stood at the console and shut down the bomb, hacked into the Daleks' systems to leave them defenseless, and then--with the aid of both Doctors--returned all but the Earth to their respectful locations, then towed the Earth home in the TARDIS. The multiverse was saved and everyone had a happy ending. Yaaay.
Only not quite. The metacrisis meant that, for Donna, since she started out human, wasn't "wired" for a Time Lord mind and her brain was slowly overloading with all the information suddenly shoved inside of it. She would "burn up" from her brain being so overclocked. The Doctor had no choice. He had to wipe her mind....
This is where the AU comes in. The Doctor listened to Donna's protests against wiping her mind and, thinking only one other solution was possible, put Donna into the Chameleon Arch, hoping to change her into a Time Lady or at least rewire her brain to handle the overload until he could find a way to reverse the metacrisis. Unfortunately, with how much damage the TARDIS took during the battle against the Daleks, the Chameleon Arch short circuited and both the Doctor and Donna got scrambled, rendering them both somewhere between human and Time Lords. Donna could certainly handle the information in her mind now, but the Doctor.... suddenly found a lack of information in his head and a single heart in his chest.
Hilarity and misadventures ensue.
Personality: Donna is a brash and compassionate woman with an inferiority complex that rivals no other. Having been looked over, talked down, and jumped from job to job for so long, Donna feels as if she is the most insignificant person in the universe and responds to this by being loud, up front, and brash. If she has a thought she will speak her mind, if she disagrees she will let you know, and if you piss her off.... oh boy.
She tends to jump to conclusions a lot, and is rather nosy. Once she latches onto an idea she will not let it go until she either gets what she wants or is proven 100% wrong. It's the only way to get her to stop.
Her brash personality is lately compounded by two things: a sense of happiness at finally being special now that she has become the DoctorDonna and was for an instant the most important woman in the universe and mounting frustration that she now has an alien's brain in her head and no idea how to use it. True, she can get creative with it, but what's the point if it proves more a nuisance--she is tired of headaches, stuttering, and getting caught up on pointless minutiae thank you!--than a help?
Abilities: For the most part, Donna is physically human with all the same capabilities of a normal human. Where things get odd is when it comes to her mind. She has the knowledge of a Time Lord crammed into her brain--which is a lot--and none of the context. This can and often does lead to Donna mixing up similar but unrelated information, blabbing things before she can filter it in her head and not realizing it, and having regular headaches and fevers when she does it too much. The fevers and headaches aren't deadly, but awfully inconvenient.
She also stutters now. Not often, but enough to annoy her and it only gets worse when she gets upset.
It's entirely possible she could regenerate if killed, but no one wants to test that theory any time soon in case it's just a theory.
Possessions: Just the clothes on her back and one of her infamous hatboxes, which contains some spa products she just bought on Mirage VI that's supposed to last a very long time. That bathhouse needs some proper soap and shampoo. OKAY?!
