In the States, such a cliff would have a tall fence at least one meter back from the edge, hazardous geography warning signs posted every 10 meters along it, and several lawyers hanging about on the off chance someone fell over the edge anyways and they could sue the landowner.

I remember at the grand canyon in US though, that even if there was a fence most of the time, there were many places without any fence, or with holes in the fence, very dangerous ;)
