He pauses. “Yes, it’s truly a shame. I can’t imagine how the show could surpass tonight’s, though,” he says, smiling, and raises his glass in compliment to him before downing the last few mouthfuls.

A sense of unease creeps under his skin as he looks out at the circus folk and their moving home, and he cannot place the reason for it. He contains

Alejandro smiles and nods. "The circus is my home," he says, looking out at the monster gathered here. "I was raised here. I couldn't possibly imagine living somewhere else."

He looks back at Jaspre. "What about you?" he asks. "Where does a traveler come from, and does he enjoy wandering?"

His smile drifts away. He doesn't want to see Jaspre leave, not yet. He can see the lines of loneliness that have etched themselves onto his face, the distant look in his eye that indicates a solitary life. This man was suffered, and he wants to help.

"Come back before you leave tomorrow," he says suddenly. "Sinthia will want to thank you for saving her."

With only those few words, his plans change, for how can he refuse such a request? After seeing that child terrified out of her mind and wailing he wants to make sure that she will be well before he leaves. So he nods again, and sees relief in the boy’s eyes, and he wonders what it is that Alejandro is so relieved about to show him such an open expression.

“I’ll stop by around noon. There are things I need to take care of in the morning. Where should I look for you?”

(*FANGASM* I love you, girl! :D Oh my god, it just struck me that Jas and Alejandro would make the most amazing parents ever, and they can't have biological kids since they're both male D:)

"In the big top, practicing," he says. "Thank you. I know she'll really appreciate it."

{Pft, whatever. They can adopt some poor outcast hybrid/half breed. What kind doesn't want to run away and join the circus? :D}

“We can’t disappoint the children, can we now?” he says. “This is goodbye for now, then. Have a nice night.” With a courtesy nod of his head and turns and leaves, blending into the shadows that surround the circus grounds.

(They'll have to, because I really wanna see Jas as a dad :3)
