By the way, the first computer I ever personally owned was a Mac Plus I bought used around 1988 or so for about $25 or $50. It was my steady main machine for over 5 years!
I then got an LCII (also used), the first G3 tower (new, $2,800), and several more used machines, mostly laptops after that.

I was never all that interested in PC clones. I had my BBC Micro, and later, Archimedes - gorgeously designed both, ironically designing their own death and rebirth with the ARM. Which led to Trilobyte, and from there, a motley assortment of projects
