I cannot believe the barn is still standing. I love this barn. It is something you would see in an old Porky Pig cartoon.
This 47 year old (?) barn has been LEANING ever since Charley in 2004. You can probably tell just by looking at the photo.
If you go upstairs and grab the rafters and shake, the whole barn shakes.
For years I have been saying, one more hurricane and this is coming DOWN.
But here it is.
The roof of the carport blew up, but it is still THERE, so I think I can fold it over , and nail it back down.
LOTS AND LOTS of branches every where. NO FLOODING. One big tree down but NO DAMAGE.
No damage to house or cars, but will have to repair some fence.
Power went out at 11 pm, I laid down at midnight and slept till 3 am while the eyewall passed right over!
Power was only out 32 hours so I wont have to throw out any food in the freezer.
The dozen frozen water bottles in there were HALF FROZEN.
Irma passed just about 20 miles from me. This old shack I live in has survived at least 4 hurricanes full force now.
This is 2004:
Charley was like a locomotive.
Irma was like a locomotive with 4 flat tires.
Monday eve there was a Yerman Yepherd in my drive way !
They let Stripey out of the bodyshop but dummy did not see the gaping hole in the fence so I rounded him up.
It made me really happy that he came to visit me.
Today I go on the quest for milk.
THANK YOU everyone who checked in on me. It really meant a lot.
I was expecting the worst but I did OK.
