All I know is that this play takes place in 1962, against the backdrop of preparations for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics.

Tokyo Olympics were in 1964 ^-^.

Well in that case we have to send our theatrical embassador MP, right? ^-^.

I could stop wondering about that strange wave in his hair...

Oh, well, that explains why I was confused about the setting. I was sure the Olympics were in '64, but the play is in '62. I'm assuming that the Olympic buildup is important, because the press descriptions always talk about them.

Umm, I also know that this is the 3rd installment of a trilogy, but I have no idea what the previous 2 were about.

Yes, it sure was already an important issue in 1962. As you know the 2020 Olympics are in Tokyo again and I watch NHK World Newsroom Tokyo daily - there is hardly a day were the 2020 Tokyo Olympics are not mentioned. Right now cost are ballooning way out of budget and the new (female) governor of Tokyo (Koike) tries to come up with cheaper alternative. Of course that has to be okayed by the IOC, since japan won the Olympics because of their illustrous plans ^-^.

It's 10,000 a ticket! I almost didn't put in for it cos he ain't my fav actor but the story is what added in to me applying anyway. If the story wasn't interesting then I wouldn't have applied I don't think.
