It's really getting chilly at night. I've found my old hot water bottle because there's nothing I love better than to drift off to sleep feeling the heat radiating from the bottom of my bed

My emergency cold weather bed-heating technique has become simply sleeping with my bedroom door ajar -- Dizzy and Ju-Ju will both sleep in there with me if they get chance when it's cold, and though they generally fight when they get close, they've learned to use me as a fence dividing the bed into territories. Ju-Ju lies along my left side, and Dizzy is on my right -- up in my face for a few minutes when I've just come to bed or when I've just woken up in the morning, and then down beside my feet when he settles down to sleep. Yes, I've accidentally kicked kitties on the way out of bed in the morning, especially if they aren't pressed up against me so I can tell they're there. (Last Xmas when we had the serious cold snap and our thermostat was broken so that the heat wasn't coming on, I woke up on the morning of the power outage with three of the four cats beside or between my legs.)
Ha, being the barrier between grumpy cats sounds familiar. My mother's cats, Missy and Luna, both want to sleep in my bed when I'm visiting, but they can't stand each other. The only way it works is with me in the middle like you describe (though sometimes Luna gets evicted for being a troublemaker, and Missy's got the seniority so I usually let her pick a spot for herself).
Aw, thanks! I've found that it's infinitely easier to do live sketches of Linni while she's sleeping compared to when she's zooming all over the place. Go figure.

HI, LINNI.
Sorry, but the capslock was warranted. Even in a drawing, she's adorable. <3
