I think of all three of those as pretty crucial to my upbringing :P (The Man Who Loved Yngve possibly a bit more directly; As an awkward teenager it was a revelation to read about awkward teenagers).
It took a lot of time choosing just one because I love so many Dickens books, but I realized Nickleby is probably my favourite (and now I'm reminded I'm halfway through Martin Chuzzlewit, I haven't picked that book up in months).
though I've not read The Man Who Loved Yngve, or even heard of this book
Well I guess that's to expected :) It's a coming-of-age story about a young man who find himself falling in love with another guy, much to his own surprise. As far as I know it's been translated to English, though the movie adaption fared better in the foreign market than the book.

Loved all the quotes you've chosen though (though I've not read The Man Who Loved Yngve, or even heard of this book...)
I love that Roald Dahl story...It's like the story of the Internet..
