Is there some unwritten rule that you can't escape from a convention without a virus? I've noticed that a lot of people I know get the "con crud" upon returning from DragonCon, Comic Con, PAX, all them big hitters... I gather the problem comes down to A) a lot of people crowded together, sharing any germs any of them may be carrying and B) people running around over-excited and partying, frequently missing out on food or sleep over the few days of the con and generally stressing their systems. Once I learned to make a special point of staying hydrated and making sure I get my vitamins (last year I started taking vitamins again a few weeks before Dragon*Con on some advice I read, getting my immune system up to par before going) and eating decent food and getting a tolerable amount of sleep, I stopped coming home with a sore throat or minor sniffles.
