This is the first time ever that I managed to get one of these plants in focus because I had incredible luck with the light.

I don't know what exactly it is. puddleshark, do you know?

ETA: it look like Common Fumitory (Fumaria officinalishttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ ( Read more... )

Thank you! :)

Patience indeed... but sometimes no patience helps when your camera isn't up to the task. It was an incredible stroke of luck, a short window of opportunity when the light was just right for my camera to manage those colours.

it also has a lot to do with connecting with your subject and having a felt sense, let the subject speak to you rather than imposing our will upon it..

LOL It's amazing how a moderately bad camera can help develop your sense of when the light is just right for your object, but that plant did "speak" to me just when the sunlight became a little stronger through the clouds, but not too strong. I still can't believe that I managed that with just one shot!

It looks more "artistic" than professional, but I'm an amateur photographer with an amateur camera and I'm not trying to illustrate a botany textbook, so I can live with that. ;)

Excellent shot!

Fumitory (Fumaria), I think?

Thank you! :)

Yes, it looks like Fumaria officinalis. Wow, it looked like Lamiaceae to me, but it seems to have its own family, although Wikipedia for some reason says Papaveraceae.
