The snow that didn't last

Mar 02, 2012 03:56

This is what we got on the last day of February. t kept snowing all day, but the snow was too wet to stick properly.

The weather keep changing, but it's still "late winter" rather than "early spring".

And yes, dan4behr, it's that same LADA in the first photo. :)

Good old VAZ 2106, my grandfather owned one.

The colour of the car remained me an old joke. /It should be told with Georgian accent, so bad English is intentional/

-- Hi, I new car got!
-- Wow, and what colour?
-- You know dawn? The same, but green.

I'm old enough to remember that car when it was originally sold in the US as the Fiat 124.
Fiat didn't sell many vehicles in the USA, btw.
Americans knew Fiat primarily for their sports cars - and for breaking down, lol...

The Lada version, similar to the one Dari shows here, was available in Canada a number of years later (1990's).
You often saw them traveling US highways taking Canadians to Florida to escape the cold winters!

Those cars are in the same places they were the other day!
Don't folks in CZ have places to go?
//joking...//

Speaking of CZ, I recall that was the prefix on the number plates for vehicles from Stara Zagora (yes, I remember that!). so, are these locals? I don't see a CZ on them...

One other thing....every time I see this car, I realize it's been years since I've seen green (other than a silver-green shade) on a car. It seems to have gone out of fashion for some reason. Maybe they should bring it back?

On second thought, perhaps not.
:)

Enjoy your snow. We only had a tiny little bit a week ago - and right back to spring/early summer :(

It's actually ST (СТ in the Cyrillic). We currently have a crazy system that uses only those Cyrillic letters that look like Roman letters.

Yes, it seems green cars are out of fashion.

And the snow didn't last at all.

As you know, I just leased a new Honda Civic. Green is not a color that's available any longer. Now, that's a green car!

So you like green cars?

I haven't seen many of them lately myself. Hmm, are they out of fashion worldwide?
