I scavanged this funky ancient 50's or 60's television from the laundry room and plan on gutting it and turning it into something cool. What I am wondering, and perhaps someone out there in LJ land may know, do I need to beware of any sort of electrical discharge from any of the television innards?

Does anyone know the term for those old mechanical contraptions that demonstrate the motions of the planets in a solar system?

I feel like zoning out to spacey fuzzed out music somewhere. Somewhere with comfy and stylish seating. And something fuzzy and red. I'm not sure what is is though. The new Sonic Mix Tape Vol. 2 posted at sonicyouth.com is OK, but I liked the last one a lot better. Wish there had been a way to download it rather than just stream it. Metropolis was very cool last night. In the spirit of things, I'm using one of the Metropolis icons I picked up from someone on the silent films LJ group a while back...
