As a deaf person, it hits home the things Daehyun goes thru, being left out of things (story of my life >.<), ppl thinking he's stupid, even if he's not. I've thought about writing from a deaf perspective but it's not easy...you've done really well in capturing what it's like.

(My parents were in denial so I never grew up with sign language and sort of have to muddle thru with lip-reading, texting, email, etc. Even tho they should know better, my family still get frustrated trying to communicate with me, and it's very upsetting. *sighs* I can hear a little, but have trouble understanding what I'm hearing (I have several types of hearing loss; it's a lot more complicated than ppl realise.) and there are often misunderstandings...and not for the first time, I wish my parents hadn't been how they were so I could have at least learned ASL. But now I'm in the UK (again) and have to face learning BSL instead. -.- /CSB)

You know...I'm also glad I don't feel alone in this. :) Knowing that there's someone out there who loves kpop or just have the similar interests in music and is a part of these fandoms who actually can relate to what it's like being deaf (or any of the physical conditions), it gives me such hope. LOL but no i'm serious, really. It gets weird as heck sometimes for me to read so many fics and all the characters are just talking. and even if they are written to be deaf/mute/blind/whatever, sometimes the authors just don't capture the right essence of what it's like to be in the disabled's shoes. tbh, i'm kinda tired of the cliches "oh no, poor him/her, how are they ever gonna work this out? or "omg s/he lost her sight/hearing/voice. This is bad and so sad, D:"

We need more people to realize that not everything is depressing and melancholy and sad. and that's where I come in and that's where hopefully you come in. Hopefully I've inspired you to write some more fictions from deaf perspectives :D
