On my way to work one of the teachers who lives nearby caught up to me and he said, "Guess who died! Heath Ledger!"

So soon after Brad Renfro (whom we were talking about last week) I totally thought he was joking... But unfortunately it wasn't so. It's just so damn sad. Such a waste of a life and talent and oh god, his family and friends ( Read more... )

I was really sorry to hear that myself, even though I don't think I've ever seen him act. It's just a great pity all around. :(

They're probably too young - he wasn't a teenage idol. It's so sad, and such a loss to world cinema.

It really is. Also I talked to some of the Korean teachers too and they'd never heard of him! So strange.

It is definitely weird! Most of the Korean teachers never heard of him at all. Obviously he wasn't well known here. And it's so depressing to use a past tense...
