I’ve driven all over Denham Springs and Baton Rouge this week, running errands for my family members who are salvaging what they can and clearing out their houses. The water literally came within a foot of my parents’ house. Half a dozen cars in my family are trash now. Grocery stores keep selling out as quickly as stuff gets put on shelves ( Read more... )

It's heartbreaking to see all the damage, but it's heartwarming to see the communities coming together to help one another.

I know what you mean about the grocery stores. Our group pretty much cleaned out our city and surrounding towns of cleaning supplies/hygiene items/perishable goods. Thankfully, trucks are coming on a regular basis to restock.
