The method Methos has of pruning people, both mortal and immortal, reminds me a little of my mod duty of purging deleted journals off my community lists every three weeks. Sometimes it can be quite enjoyable, just like any not-too-unpleasant cleaning.
Methos's lack of attachment to other creatures must be essential in his life, though it's chilling sometimes how used to it he is (but then he's not really human, and is very old *cough*).

The second Highlander story reminds me of all the saint stories about the saint carrying his head in his hands after beheading to show the site of burial or the place for his church (or something). It's probably good that Methos has grown used to occasionally 'dying' in painful ways (or at least something that looks painful to anyone watching.
Of course he can communicate with horses (the original 'horse whisperer' no doubt *LOL* )...
