This is more than I ever could have hoped for! Oh I love it so. ♥ Where do I even begin? I guess I'll do it list style.

- I really liked how you used taxonomic names instead of common names to describe the different animal attributes present in the fic (i.e., felid instead of cat, canid instead of dog, chiropteran instead of bat.- I LOVE that you gave Kurt the equivalent of claws, or talons. I didn't think to draw claws on Kurt in the fan art that inspired this, but I have enjoyed imagining winged characters having talons before... so when I got to where you first mentioned it in the fic I got pretty excited

As to the names, originally, it was the common ones, then feline and canine and such, and then I decided that something more - formal, I guess? was needed. So. And I couldn't leave 'bat' as 'bat' if everyone else had a cool name.

I didn't even think of Kurt's nails as talons! I wanted him to inherit something from Burt, but they could so totally be talons.

I pretty much knew from the beginning that I wanted Blaine to have wings. And for some reason, I kept thinking of bat wings, so. He's also got echolocation, too, but he and Blaine never got to talking about that (yet).

I think my favorite part of your drawing is the wings. They're so gorgeous, I really only wanted to replicate that in a story, if I could.
