Sam's contemplation in the first one tugs at my heartstring. I wonder whether he would really have changed his mind about going to Stanford if Dean put his foot down. Somehow ... I doubt it.

against the possibility that one day Dean'd need a pretty damn good lawyer.

One of my dream AUs - Sam going to Stanford with John's blessings, and he became a lawyer who got his family's back. How I'd love to read that! :)
