Day 3 wasn't that harmonious in the morning. Kate got up late & was still in her nightie 10 minutes before we had to leave. She moaned & shouted a lot & won't be getting her 5p reward chart prize for getting dressed, brushing hair & cleaning teeth without complaint. Do you know if all schools offer musical instrument lessons in KS2, and is it free?

I have no idea. Mine were free in Jersey, but only from the last year of primary school, so I wazn't expecting Kate to be able to do it yet. £145 a year for the lessons (yikes!) plus from talking to other parents, you pay for the Saturday morning band & orchestra practice once they are good enough to go along. I had all that free too.

I've seen the percussion lessons at school, as I bake in the same room (go figure! lack of space) There are about 6 children & they each only get a few minutes with the teacher. At least if she does clarinet, I can expand on what she's taught.

They have to pay up here too, and did when I was at school too. I think they might have reduced rates though for people on is!

The letter doesn't say anything about that, but it would be worth asking. I need to cut back a lot to afford Kate's new activities, plus Holly is now starting some of the same things.

Adams really upset as they told his class they could learn an instrument this year but only if they were 8, he's not 8 till November so he can't learn till next year, hardly seem fair though that half the class get to if they want!

Thta's a shame, they can't help when their birthdays are. I know that with the brass & clarient, tehy need their front teeth for postitioning, but Kate has hers as she did that early.

Sending teh form back today, am excited, yes, I am sad :p
