okay I think we have officially lost our mind.  We went today to just look at a place to see if we liked the floor plans and such.  We went in with the idea of a 2 bedroom 1 bath w/ fireplace, vaulted ceilings, and a view of the crappy lake for 1160 a month.  here is the floor plan.

Ekk...I can't help ya much because Rob did all of our bill paying so I don't remember what the electric bill's were. I'm not sure what the apartment complex is like, but I call tell you about ours as a comparison for you. Our apartment was just outside of Daytona Beach, FL.

Our apartment was brand new, in a gated community. We had 3 bedrooms (all with WIC), 2 bath, living/dining/kitchen, and a full laundry room (washer and dryer included), 1239sqft including the balcony. We paid $1200/month but I can't remember the utilities since I never saw the bills...lol. We also had the option to rent a detached garage for an extra fee. Our rent inclued valet trash service (no taking it to the dumpster) and also had several car wash stations. Here is the website if you want to see it: http://www.villaggioonthelakes.com/

i would LOVE to pay 690 but its just not logical around here even in the bad parts of town. 1160 is actually on the rather low side especially with a washer and dryer.

huge decisions scare me especially ones that deal with my money in huge amount like that.

I am almost positive we can afford it before guy's commission check every month. It just scares the living shit out of me giving away so much money every month! not that I dont do it now but its different.

Last night we basically said we are going to go for it but were going to search around and see if we are really getting the best we can get. We also need to make a decision as to which apartment to get.

I can't comment on the $$ aspect cause I obviously don't know what you make! But the place looks nice! And the 20% back sounds very cool. Makes it seem like paying rent for a year or 2 could benefit you more then paying straight rent. KWIM?

I know what u mean. its just so frustrating!

I just checked the website and the 2/2 we looked at yesterday the price went down almost 100. the lady said the prices can be changed by corprate everyday and its not becoming obvious! which just adds to the stress.

I think you should go for it! We pay 1225/month for our one bedroom with a garage. Our electric bill last month was $133, a little on the high side because we had to use the heat a lot.

Getting a voucher back at the end sounds like a great idea! That's wonderful they have that available to you.
