Ryan Sorba came to speak and it got canceled because of protests.

So . . . you don't want people to protest, or you think it was cowardly for the school to cancel?

Taken from my livejournal:

Live from the Neilson Browsing Room, where the Ryan Sorba panel has turned INTO A RIOT. SMITHIES STREAMING IN THROUGH THE WINDOWS. PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICERS (not in uniform, what the hell?) FORCIBLY REMOVING PEOPLE FROM THE ROOM. At this point they've given up. Queer leaders on campus have rallied and are delivering speeches. This is one of the most amazing things I've ever witnessed. Honestly, I don't know whether to be intensely proud or just embarrassed, but this is definitely incredible.

---

Since then the pride has gone away, lost in the fervor and passion of the night, and the embarrassment and shame has settled in pretty deeply. Ryan Sorba got about 20/25 minutes into his speech before being overtaken by the protesters. He had to be escorted off campus by public safety.
