Lovely character study. Neal was scarily good at selling bad stock to innocent victims, wasn't he? And he fit in awfully well with all those sharks. It really made me think about how much he must despise the idea of a nine to five job when he can make lots more money than that doing things he finds much more fun.

Excellent ficlet.

Lovely and thoughtful.

But Peter wondered if it was all for show, if Neal really felt bad about these victims. And what about his own victims?

That's such an interesting question. I wonder if they'll ever address it.

Yeah, I know. They've never shown Neal displaying any remorse about his past crimes and the devastation they must have caused. I wish they would some time.

Given his actions in the show (particularly in The Portrait), I tend to assume he mostly ripped off large institutions (museums, financial, etc) rather than people who couldn't afford it, but that may be wishful thinking on my part.
