I know~~ this is why I'm having such a problem with it. There are no food places where I can try any kind of curry and I don't want to just bluff my way through a meal I've never even had! I've never looked in the grocery for premade things but that may be my best option to find a taste memory.

I'm going to ask around and see if anyone knows anywhere that makes a decent curry for me to get my hypothetical feet wet.

Thankfully i had some decent leftovers in the fridge that Jon and I ate, his dad actually liked the chicken okay.

OH NO. The only time I'll ever touch HM is on a hot ham & swiss + grilled onions sandwich. Tis it. Sorry to hear it didn't turn out so well!! Maybe you can try either the Grey Poupon version or make your own?

Ahh you have such a lovely track record so far!! Last week was a botch for us. I didn't plan a menu and it was REALLY AGGRAVATING to think of something different that we'd both agree to every night GYAH!

OH CURRY. IMO, there are two worlds of curry: REAL curry or Japanese/Korean karee.

I can make the latter provided I have the roux. The first...I'll leave that to better chefs like my aunts. K/J karee is like.....beef stew: thick, potatoes, beef, carrots and a bit of onions. Simple. It has a kick of curry spice added to it though. That's about it. Beef stew with curry spice, no coconut milk.

Hope you find a place to sample it!! If you lived like....5 states closer...and around the block, I make karee almost every week. Tomato loves it.

Now beef stew + curry spice sounds do-able. I have tasted curry spice before just not an actual curry dish. I may play around on that Idea. I can get behind beef, onions, and potatoes.

I made a food menu. Printed out some weekly tables to put the menu on the fridge. I'm just trying new things. I like honey mustard dressing, like the dip for chicken nuggets, like it on sammichs, but I didn't like this pre-made mix.

Oh well C'est la vie. I now have a dozen recipes that work and only a few that don't.

There's some Indian places downtown Nashville, about an hour, maybe an hour and half away. I'll have to see if anyone home from college this summer knows any good places to try anything.

In the mean time I may smell some spices and see about playing with flavors on my own.
