What is happening?

New password policy. I like my password. I don't want to change it.

I simply fail to see how changing my password will stop people hacking into the LJ database, seeing as anyone can open an account anytime anyway - no personal checks there!

My own personal LJ? Don't much care who hacks in, I pretty much assume anyone can read it, even if it is locked, seeing as you can easily go through other friended LJ's anyway. Why don't they fix *that* gaping hole first, is whatI want to know, instead of uselessly making people change their passwords.

Oh, I remember reading that elsewhere, but don't have a problem myself, because I already fit the password criteria.
