The Rileys - Part 5: The Riley's never do anything interesting! D:

Riiiight! I'm re-writing this journal, since I have no other Sim-related scrawlings to offer. Well, then. It's back to the Rileys again. Last time we saw them, they were back from vacation in France, and back to their usual habit of not doing anything noteworthy ( Read more... )

Sarah's eyebrows do almost have life of their own. They look like backwards and forwards check marks. XD

I was sooooo good at making Sims who looked exactly the same.

I don't know, I can see how it might be more difficult to get TS3 Sims to look different from each other. Maybe I'm just biased, but people's TS2 Sims look different from other people's, but TS3 Sims all have that look. Did that make sense?

Some time-travelling kids, and their mad lumberjack father, broke in and turned on all the taps during the night.

SOUNDS LIKE EDGER AN TEH JUINORS!1!!!1 (And then you mentioned the Juniors in the caption of the very next picture!)

I do like the "fat" states better in newer versions of this game. The TS2 ones still look very slender.

In my opinion, vampires almost always get too many powers. Speed and strength? How is that fair? Predators in nature have limitations and vulnerabilities, otherwise there would no longer be prey.

Unicorn!

Yes, for a good few years, most people's TS3 Sims looked very similar. They even looked similar to other people's Sims. I think it's because the default templates all are more similar to each other than the TS2 ones, as well as the sliders having a much, much smaller range. Nowadays, there are hundreds of custom sliders, slider multipliers and other hacks that make it possible to create monsters of a magnitude impossible in Sims 2. That's one of the reasons I sooooo much want to play a Prettacy in Sims 3.

Edgar & Jooniors are travelling in alternate dimentions too.

At least the Sim vampires burn in the sun, unlike the ones from Twilight and The Vampire Chronicles. Actually, I think Anne Rice's vampies had to get used to sunlight, or something. Lestat walked around in the California sun in the 1980s, but his "daughter" Claudia burned to death when she was exposed to sunlight a century earlier. It's been 20 years since I read the books, I can't remember what it was he did to make himself immune.

Hmm, I don't recall Lestat being able to go out in the sun at all, and it's been just as long since I read the books. Your memory is better than mine. Actually, I only read Interview with the Vampire and The Vampire Lestat, both of which I remember enjoying. But I just couldn't get through Queen of the Damned. I still really love the first four books of The Vampire Diaries. The TV series? No. I watched the first two episodes, and it irritated me how they were simultaneously taking shots at Twilight and imitating the hell out of it. Elena in the books is blonde and blue-eyed, but TV Elena is...wait for it...brunette with brown eyes. Right, Bella? There were other things they changed from the books that were obvious Twilight ripoffs, but I can't remember. I also gave up on it because they played current popular songs at such a volume as to compete with the actors' dialogue! FACEPALM.

Ha ha, I didn't finish reading Queen of the Damned either! Actually, I think I read the ending, but there were chunks inbetween I just skipped. There were too many new characters who wanted to tell stuff from their perspective.

I'm fairly sure that at some point Lestat got over the whole "burn in the sun" thing. He discovered that if he wasn't afraid of the light, it couldn't hurt him, or something. I've never read, or watched, The Vampire Diaries, but I hear there are a couple of hot actors in it. :P
