I'm not sure this helps any, but we had the exact same problem with the baby (er, the rats-figuring-out-you're-feeding-them-medicine-and-refusing-to-eat problem, not the plants-infested-with-insects problem).

Ah, good, because aphids on a baby is probably kind of tricky to treat.

(I was a pain in the ass about medication as a child. I am still, in fact, a pain in the ass about medication, but at least I only annoy myself with it these days.)
