The instructions:

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Turn to page 117.
3. The 2nd sentence is your life in 2017.

Turning to the nearest book that has a page 117 (I am sitting in the living room next to the shelf of children's books), I find:

"That's what I don't understand. It doesn't make any sense."

I laughed out loud.

The nearest book to me is That's Not My Fox, which does not have anything like 117 pages. :)

Yeah I had to skip a bunch of shorter things before I got to Howliday Inn.

X just put Touchpoints down next to me, so apparently my 2017 will be "just as eager as his parents are to have him slip to the floor or heave himself up to standing at a chair or table to show off these amazing accomplishments."

"Mylord, I don't understand you." (Judy Tarr, the Hound and the Falcon).

Err, no. I shall follow the time-honoured tradition of seeking a better oracle.

"When a wizard toasts his friends with a badly cast fireball, the player learns to pay more attention to the area of effect of a fireball."

We can only hope that the collective players do learn from experience!

First book, Thing Explainer, doesn't have 117 words. -distrubing if correct.

Ok 2nd book, "Each developer has committed a few time and merged each other's work successfully; see Figure 5-10"

Maybe I shouldn't do means at work.

Yeah, the programmers grabbing the nearest book at work do tend to have a certain dryness in their results. On the other hand, assuming no major shakeups, it seems like an accurate prediction!

I have to laugh...

"Well..." I say with exaggerated patience.
