Given time and resources, the museum of stuff one person likes can work pretty well. (It might, however, have benefited from your greater appreciation of uncluttered views.)

I feel like the Museum of Stuff This Person Likes works better after the relevant person is dead, or maybe after they've been famous for a couple decades. I'm not sure why that should be. Certainly I have enjoyed a lot of museums that are basically This Person's House, and Some Stuff They Had In It, and Some Stuff We Bought That Looks Like Stuff They Might Have Had In It. Perhaps the historical distance makes it feel more like a museum and less like staring intently at someone's living room, feeling vaguely creepy.
