“Don’t you want to hang on to it?”
“Why? I’m never going to see him again.”
“Exactly.” Bobby’s eyeing him strangely. Now he knows why, but then he had no idea. “It’s something to remember him by.”
“Nah,” he’d said, not caring, “you keep it.”
It’s in a box at Bobby’s, Sam thinks excitedly, finally remembering what his soulless self had done with Dean’s amulet. Then his heart sinks. In a box at Bobby’s. Gone now like everything else. Like Bobby. All they have left is each other, damaged though they are. Neither of them is ever throwing that away again.
