[Miles was sitting on his bed in the hotel, treating his hands like Nurse Joy (after she finally gave up trying to find out why he was so injured) told him to, rubbing the medicine onto them. They were... a nasty, almost crimson color from the first-degree frostbite, appearing mangled and misshapen on the small screen of the Pokégear. Sorry, Merlin, but waking up might be shocking.

But Miles tries not to wake up his friend, smiling softly at Archimedes and speaking in an equally soft voice.]

Congratulations, Archimedes -- is he tired from the battl--

Yip! Yip! [The two initial yipping soon derails into a full-out barking session as Pip hops into the screen, unaware of Merlin's slumber. He doesn't seem to calm down no matter how much Miles shushes him, and thus goes the rest of Miles' reply...]

[Well, he did feel kind of bad for disturbing Merlin's sleep. But he really missed the guy, and he really really wanted to talk to him.

Completely forgetting about his still exposed and nasty hands, he takes a deep breath and clears his throat.]

Meeerlin. [He drawls, imitating the prince.] Wake up, Merlin, you big, lazy, lump.

Clicking her beak and making warbling noises deep in her throat, she edges in front of the screen, blinking her big red eyes and turning her head near upside-down to peer at the other Noctowl.]

[Heather, whose FACE was just shoved past by the big bird, wrinkles her nose and turns her head to the side, spitting out some down.]
