I'm almost caught up on Hawaii 5-0, just in time for its return next week. If I manage two episodes between now and then, that'll make two shows I'm caught up on in real time, which has... probably never happened to me before. Vampires and pineapple: a winning combination

Yes, exactly. And it's not like they don't know how to write them, because there are all those tiny moments of them being delightful together, or just the team playing off one another. It can't be too hard to figure out that four people interacting gives more possibilities than 90% of the screen time being spent on just the two, can it?

I do hope they go back to Chin's past at some point, in some way beyond vague stoic pain. I hope the writers are too smart to try the 'Or maybe he DID do it! Huh? Huh? Made you wonder!' approach, but I'll take even that.

Hee! I'd probably have missed it if I wasn't so thoroughly prepped. Those are definitely the kinds of things where fandom always has your back.

I never know what to think about Steve as a leader, really. He doesn't really do leadership in the show - nobody on the team is portrayed as needing management or even direction, just someone to make the decisions and allocate roles. So really kind of like a well-trained military unit, I guess, which is what he's used to. And now I kind of hope they go a direction that means he needs to do more than that, at least once.

is Kono/Steve; I somewhat don't think she'd put up with his issues, and mostly suspect they'd end up bombing buildings and jumping off roofs on a daily basis. More than they do at the moment, that is.

and Chin and Danny would be running after them with emergency services and the firefighters on speed dial.

I really see it more as Danny running and Chin shaking his head and going off to do something sensible, or possibly shoot some people.
